Title Enter word or phrase to search for in job title field. Not quotes needed. Highest decision making level. Vice President Vice Presidents typically report to C-level contacts and would be considered the second highest decision making level.

Director Directors typically report to Vice President level contacts and would be considered the third highest decision making level. Manager Managers typically report to Director level contacts and would be considered the fourth highest decision making level.

Other, Sub-Manager Sub-Manager level contacts typically report to managers and have little or no decision making power. They are also sometimes called decision influencers. We also place contacts at this decision making level if they do not fit in any of the other areas. This would include coordinators, assistants, interns, specialists, and other entry level positions.

Name and Gender Name and Gender This section provides tools to search for contacts by first name, last name, and gender. Typically, you would use this section if you want to find a specific contact. First Name Use this field to search for someone by first name. Also referred to as given name or forename. If a middle name or initial is available it will be included with the first name in this field.

Also referred to as family name or surname. You can also sometimes search for professional titles in this field. For example, dentists often times add DDS to the end of their name, so if you search for last name ends with DDS, you are likely to find dentists. Female Will return only contacts known to be female. Any Will return male and female contacts. Department or Profession Department or Profession This section allows you to search within specific departments or professions by simply checking a box.

These searches, sometimes complex, have been pre-run for you and records that fall within the target area have been marked for quick access. Usually found in government or education. Admissions This will return contacts with the word "admissions" found in their title.

Usually found in education. Assistant This will return contacts with the word "assistant" found in their title. Business Development This will return contacts with the phrase "business development" found in their title. Sometimes shortened to "biz dev".

Business Development contacts typically handle high level sales engagements, partnerships, channel partnership, resellers, etc. Buyer This will return contacts with the word "buyer" in their title. Buyers are typically responsible for purchasing products and materials to resell, or that will become a part of a product that will later be sold.

CPAs and Accountants can be found within companies, handling internal financial matters, or they can be part of a firm that handles financial matters, tax returns, etc. Creative This will return contacts with the word "creative" found in their title, and are typically responsible for product design, marketing creative, and other creative functions.

Engineering This will return contacts with the word "engineer" found in their title, and can include all types of engineers: civil, mechanical, industrial, network, electrical, etc. Financial This will return contacts with the words "financial", "finance", "controller", "comptroller", or "accountant" found in their title, and manage all financial functions within companies, from CFO to entry level Accounts. This includes all contacts with "Human Resources", "staffing", or "recruiting" in their title.

Lawyer This will return lawyers and attorneys, independent, within law firms, and within corporations, often functioning as general counsel. Learning This will return contacts with the word "learning" found in their title, and are often times responsible for corporate learning.

Librarian This will return contacts with "Library" or "Librarian" in their title. Mostly Librarians, but also Library Directors and other related titles. Marketing This will return contacts with the word "marketing" found in their title, and are sometimes also involved in sales.

This group is a sub-set of technology contacts and manage the crossroads between information, technology, databases, and business intelligence within a company. Mortgage Broker This will return Mortgage Brokers, who help individuals and companies secure financing to purchase real estate.

Network This will return contacts with the phrase "Network" found in their title. Nurse This will include all nursing related titles, including Nurses, Nursing Directors, etc. Operations This will return contacts with the word "operations" found in their title, from entry level contacts to COOs.

Operations is sometimes referred to as "Ops". Photographer This will return photographers and all photography related contacts. Procurement This will return contacts with "Procurement" in their title.

Very similar to Purchasing, Sourcing, and Buyers. Procurement contacts work with vendors and suppliers to purchase products and services on behalf of their companies.

Product This will return contacts with "Product" in their title. Professor This will return Professors, typically at universities, and often times focused on a very specific subject area. Project Manager This will return Project Managers. You can find project managers in almost every department within a company, from technology to manufacturing, to marketing, and more.

Purchasing This will return contacts with "Purchasing" in their title. Purchasing contacts work with vendors and suppliers to purchase products and services on behalf of their companies.

Real Estate Agent This will return Real Estate Agents, who help individuals and companies find and negotiate the purchase or lease of real estate. Research This will return contacts with the word "research" found in their title. This will include research and development contacts and researchers, many of whom can be found in universities, biotech companies, and pharmaceutical companies. Sales This will return contacts with the word "Sales" found in their title, as well as Account Managers and Account Executives.

Scientist This will return contacts with the word "scientist" found in their title. Many scientists work for universities, biotech companies, and pharmaceutical companies. Sourcing This will return contacts with "Sourcing" in their title.

Very similar to Purchasing, Procurement, and Buyers. Sourcing contacts are typically responsible for purchasing products and materials to resell, or that will become a part of a product that will later be sold. Supply Chain This will return contacts with "supply chain" in their title. Traditionally these contacts manage the logistics of materials coming in and products going out. Telecom This will return contacts with "telecom" or "telcom" in their title.

These contacts manage the telecommunications within their company, although most telecom roles are being replace by or merged with technology roles as voice and data networks merge.

This will return the top contact s within their company. Training This will return contacts with the word "Training" found in their title, and can be employees within a company, independent consultants, or part of a specialized training firm. Social Media Links Social Media Links This section provides tools to search for companies and contacts based on the availability of social media links. When a social media link is present, you can click on the link and the public profile will be loaded in a new tab.

On the left you will find personal social medial links that are available and on the right you will find company social media links that are available. You can select any combination of social networks, or check the box that simply says "Only show results with at least one social link.

Results has a facebook link This will return only contacts where a Facebook profile link is available. Results has a twitter link This will return only contacts where a Twitter profile link is available.

Results has a linkedin link This will return only contacts where a LinkedIn profile link is available. Company Results has a company facebook page This will return only contacts in companies where a corporate Facebook profile link is available, also referred to as a "fan page". Results has a company foursquare page This will return only contacts in companies where a company Foursquare profile link is available. Results has a company yelp page This will return only contacts in companies where a company Yelp profile link is available.

Results has a company tripadvisor page This will return only contacts in companies where a company Tripadvisor profile link is available. By Company By Company This section provides tools that allow you to search for companies. The results will still be returned as contacts, but they will be contacts within companies that meet the criteria you have specified. Of course you use company level criteria in conjunction with contact level criteria to find specific types of contacts in specific types of companies.

Company Name Enter word or phrase to search for in the company name field. Perfect for finding exact companies. Remember that many county names are used in multiple different states, so you may want to use this field in conjunction with a specific state. Clever uses of this field include: search for a street name to find all companies on a given street, or search for companies with "5th floor", "6th floor", "7th floor" etc.

You do NOT need to hold down the control button to select multiple states. Domain Enter word or string to search for in the company domain field. Usually they are the same, but sometimes they are different. Not quotes, dashes, spaces, or parentheses needed. Only digits. To search for area code, simply select "Starts With", and type in the area code in the phone number field. Starts With: Search for your digits only at the beginning of the phone number Includes: Search for your digits anywhere in the phone number Exact: Return only records where phone number matches your digits exactly Ends With: Search for your digits only at the end of the phone number Excludes: Do not return any records where your digits are found in the phone number City This field allows you to search for companies based on the city they are in.
